Nakotah Indigenous Enterprise was established with a clear purpose: to prioritise and support Indigenous founders, creatives and entrepreneurs who are building enterprises grounded in community, culture and long‑term responsibility.
Across the world, Indigenous peoples represent a small percentage of the global population yet carry a vast share of ancestral knowledge, cultural memory and ecological stewardship traditions. Despite this, Indigenous entrepreneurs often face structural barriers when accessing mentorship, professional networks, capital and strategic support.
For this reason, Nakotah Indigenous Enterprise places a particular emphasis on supporting founders who belong to Indigenous communities through ancestry, lineage and lived cultural connection.
This priority is not intended to exclude others from learning about culturally responsible entrepreneurship. However, the programmes, mentorship opportunities and scholarship places offered through Nakotah are designed first and foremost to create space for Indigenous founders whose voices, knowledge systems and leadership have historically been underrepresented within mainstream entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Nakotah recognises that Indigenous identity is relational and community-rooted. Applicants may therefore be invited to share their cultural background and connection to community as part of the application process. This information is used solely to ensure that programmes remain aligned with the mission and cultural foundations of Nakotah.
Through this commitment, Nakotah Indigenous Enterprise seeks to contribute to the long‑term visibility, resilience and leadership of Indigenous entrepreneurs within the global enterprise landscape.
